If you can set it up as a dedicated server then there will be no tether. You of course will need to host that somewhere, on a spare machine etc.. Tether Distance. Did anyone notice that the tether distance option disappeared? Started a non-dedicated with my friends and soon figured out that the tether distance was low. But you can set the number itself to anything. I set mine at 30 which is the entire length of the map.
