I had my blood taken for both the Natera Panorama and Horizon Carrier tests November 18th at my 11 week appointment. Got my results back quickly and all was good with the world. Fast forward to yesterday and I received two bills in the mail directly from Natera. One for $418 for the Panorama NIPT test and one for $2,238 (!!!!) for the Horizon test. Natera told me in advance that they would run my insurance for the estimated cost and then let me choose between going through insurance or using the $249 self pay option. We opted to get the NIPT testing done this past week, and today I received an email with an estimate of my out-of-pocket expenses from Natera, the company that does the NIPT test. They estimated that if I went through insurance, I would have to pay $645. BUT, I could opt to pay Natera directly and it would only be $250.
