Feb 23, 2024 · One machine that was running the ScreenConnect client software was attacked with malware called Xworm. The exploit caused the client to write a file into the %temp% directory and then triggered the client to run it. The file contained a one-line PowerShell command that downloaded a 531KB file from a public Pastebin-type server.
It shows in add remove programs as screenconnect client. It doesn’t show up in the tray. I can see 2 services running: automate monitoring service and automate watchdog service.
