In 1.0 you can do that in 103. But you can use the guide with hand crafting if you want to just launch a rocket before 8h. The crafts are 1 steam generator, 1 off shore pump, 1 lab, 10 red science, 1 power pole, 1 boiler (you need to use the furnace if you want to avoid a craft), and 1 assembler 1 (once science has been researched) 1. Also, at that point, just find a save that wlll work. You can test out settings by starting the new map and checking the achievements UI on the top right side. If spoon is locked, you changed something you shouldn't have. I'm coming up on 150 hours on game time in Factorio and I have been playing with my girlfriend who is almost at 100 hours now. We decided to attempt the There is No Spoon challenge together without any preparation at all going into it, and I'm pleased to say we succeeded with a whole 30 minutes to spare!

Third time I found a map with less trees (actually almost no trees), and normal biters. Things were going swell until I suddenly faced an angry biter mob. They kept coming and it became clear that it was a lost cause. Had a pollution cloud stretching far outside my visible area, so no wonder they were a bit mad. And then, the finale.
