Disconnect your battery, unplug the reg/rect. and connect your meter (set to ohms) red lead to any of the three wires that go to the stator, black lead to frame ground.Diluted or contaminated coolant. Coolant leaks. Water pump. Combustion pressures, head gasket, cracked head. Lean fuel mixtures. Engine timing. Engine oil level low.
