Along with that build, try and get elemental weapons, especially SMGs, that make Maya almost untouchable in Borderlands 2Rapoulas. Axton can do stupid damage, hes good with everything but masters grenades and tediore chucking. Also, fun fact! On lvl72 op8, Axton had the fastest speedkill on Voracidous with a whopping 1.9 seconds, now on lvl 80 op10, that fight is the hardest raid in the game taking 40+ minutes.

Don't fight the guy until your level 50, as that's the recommended mission level. If you can, try to get the help of a good Zer0 player. Zer0 if used correctly, can kill this boss in a single shot. Hyperius is a raid boss, so they're not designed to be solo'd against normally. Not saying its impossible, but its very hard.
