Couching glaives are awesome, pity couching is only minorly useful. The swings are usually easier/safer to use and oneshot anything anyway.For melee on horseback, you want either a couchable lance or swing polearm like a glaive. Swinging is much better for overall damage output but some people just like the satisfaction of hitting with a couched lance. I personally use tier 4 glaive head, tier 4 hardened pine long spear shaft combination, 78 swing spead, 91 thrust speed, 30 pierce damage, 150 swing damage, braceable, couchable, 1 and 2 handed. Swordstaff head and long Glaive head are other options but they are slower, might be impractical in close combat.
