Klr 650 forum.
It's not a trail bike by far but 120 HP will more than get you down the freeway and pull the front wheel at 50 MPH while doing it. I've ridden the Versys 650, it does way better than any KLR on the freeway but is a little "buzzie" compared to the 1000 at speed. If you buy a 650, don't ride the 1000 or you'll regret the 650 purchase.

Used the factory oil 10W-40 and the factory oil filter. This is the very 1st new bike that I've owned that did NOT require a valve lash check at its first service.It offers superior protection for the radiator when used in conjunction with the rad and pump guards and is lighter than the stocker and/or nerf bars. It also can be polished up, making it much more attractive. Convert 2022 klr 650 to a 650S. Thanks to everyone on the forum for all of the great info. I have a 2022 klr 650 that I’ve lowered with eagle mikes lowering links, dropped the front forks almost an inch and installed the Kawasaki low seat. I feel like the handling is a little off compared to stock and was wondering if converting it to a 650S ...I keep hoping that Dunlop will make the D605 tire in a 5.10-17 size. Cozy my man, you got a ‘23. Just fill it up and ride it as is, enjoy the ride, weather and scenery. You can deal with all those farkles/mods later, as you like. As my bike is on the highway or gravel roads most of the time, I gravitate to the 2nd gen machines. Differences between the 2012 and 2013 would be limited to colors and decals. The new KLR650 has EFI and optional ABS, unlike the other budget competition. Kawi barely hiked the price for the new machine; it’s competitive with Honda and Suzuki’s MSRPs in the segment, and it’s still well below the Euro bikes. It’s heavy. its liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder engine is low on power.

As mentioned fuel capacity. With an IMS tank I carry 7 gallons and go over 300 miles per tank. 2. Modifications. Many more long distance mods can be applied to the KLR than DRZ.
