Bottom half blinking white was indeed a low voltage warning for my ring wired door bell. Couldn't find nay info about this on the Web. My old transformer that came with the house only pumped out 8V AC. I watched a DIY vid of someone replacing the transformer with a lighting 24DC transformer and went with their guide which worked a treat.
