There is most definitely extra costs for any repair that has to do with Eyesight, and I highly doubt that your mechanic can recalibrate Eyesight much less repair it. There is a bit of ambiguity as to what this thread is about: some folks talk about driver monitoring and some talk about EyeSight monitoring of road conditions. I personally could care less about driver monitoring; but this stuff CAN be disabled in the chaos that Subaru settings are.

The Subaru technician's diagnoses is that the check engine light was due to an EVAP leak (loose gas cap). I asked if a check engine light could trip the Eyesight error, and they stated that by design, most check engine lights will disable the Eyesight functionality.

The only way I got this setting to save was to push and hold the 3 bar distance button again. Pushing the cruise button reset the settings!
