This is what you should do when you get bitten in Project Zomboid.To be clear, you can turn off 'zombie infection'. If you do not use clean bandages, and keep the bite clean, you might get a normal infection. Then you need to find antibiotics in the game, which can help with the normal infections. Bites are 100% fatal on vanilla settings. They always transmit the Knox infection. Eating well and sleeping can delay it a few days at best. Scratches are 7% fatal. Lacerations 25%. Bites 100%. Note the Knox infection is separate from the infected status on wounds. Infected means bacterial infection and you can treat that with disinfectants
The zombie infection is different and doesn’t require a wound to become infected. It uses the same moodlet so it’s hard to tell if it is that or a wound infection if you get both. #1.
