The Contingency The old AI rebellion crisis suffers from a number of issues, mostly stemming from the fact that it's so different from the other crises. While the Extradimensionals and Scourge are large invasions that have to be fought with fleets, the AI rebellion is supposed to be primarily an internal crisis, with the dangers stemming from ...87 votes, 35 comments. 412K subscribers in the Stellaris community. The Contingency is so smart, it knew it cannot be defeated if it doesn't place another hub in the system, and used your ringworld as an excuse. From the stellaris wiki: Even if identified beforehand, hubs normally cannot be prevented from awakening.Drones can be used for nefarious purposes, such as scaring the bejesus out of the folks trying to protect the prez. Dedrone has a solution. Drones are lovely for all sorts of thing...So if anyone declares war on you, make sure to get rid of the missiles on the battleships quick and always keep a stockpile of minerals to pump out emergency destroyers or cruisers. Ideally you'll want to only bring the fight directly to the contingency if you're sure you won't be attacked, because you're insanely vulnerable with only battleships.

All 3 of the crises have their ships designed in such a way that using a properly designed fleet to counter them can counter them pretty hard. ... Sentient creatures rarely have the foresight to accurately predict what their creations will cause – often leading to unintended disaster. The Contingency was developed by the ancient Ren Miruu to avoid a “Class-30 Singularity Event” from occurring and potentially wiping out all life in the universe. If their home planet is destroyed, all contingency ships will self-destruct. Destroy the planets by bombarding them, at 50% devastation they will go boom. There’s detailed information on the Stellaris wiki on what all of the crisis do and how to stop them, including their ship layout and how to counter them. [deleted]

One of the most common complaints I get about Gigastructures is that, well, it is overpowered and makes the game too easy. While a lot of players do enjoy the "power-trip" given by the mod, a significant proportion of the Stellaris playerbase just doesn't like it when the game is made even more trivial than it already is. And I fully agree!

Here's the thing: I want to join their federation so I have some control over the fleets and getting rid of the contingency (the awakened empire has 200K+ for crying out loud). I can only do that if they are at peace, but they are not. It should be this much of a deal but they aren't moving a transport fleet to take the planet to end the war.

The Contingency has two main weapons: Seeker Drones and anti-armor. The drones are the most relevant, as they bypass 100% of shields and 60% of armor. These can evicerate high-evasion vessels like corvettes, but are less effective against high-HP units. The primary counter is AA and your own fighters from cariers. Conclusion: Contingency is the hardest crisis to show up first at 2300 because it can't be kited. Details: Since Contingency has X slot weapons, their weapons always gets a few shots off and each shot is 1-hit kill (36k damage, tachyon lance). 6 fleets of 160 of the BBs shown in total (3M fleet power) can barely defeat a Contingency fleet of 6M ... For high Contingency crises, yea anti-hull works the best since hull isn’t buffed nearly as much compared to the shields or armor (like 17% of their total health pool). I personally wouldn’t bother with kinetic artillery or anything other than FAE on your ships because you’re probably not getting through any of their ships’ shield+armor.

The systems in which it spawns do get their outposts/starbases removed, a machine world (Sterilization Hubs 002, 003 and 004) does appear and the red animations typical for the contingency do appear. However the machine world is not inhabited and there are no fleets or contingency bases. One can simply build an outpost there.gizmopower Jul 10, 2017 @ 3:47am.
