I am experiencing a problem with light firing pin strikes and seeking advice about this problem. The light firing pin strikes are obvious on the shell base and are becoming more frequent. I replaced the firing pin with a new one but ... I have an old .22 caliber Marlin Model 39 (maybe model 39 A, hard to see exactly). It seems to work OK except there is no firing pin in it. The serial number under the lever action is "F 1134?", so I think originally made in 1949. Also has a engraving inside the action that has a date of 9/26/59.

I “think” the firing pins have been consistent from the early 39a through the 39as. I’ve got several 39a’s with S,U,V,AA prefixes and the pins from Wisner’s are a match.
